In December 2020, Dr. Mari Osawa of the Science Council of Japan (SCJ) spoke with the IHRN about the importance of tackling global poverty and gender inequality, problems which have been made worse by the pandemic.

Dr. Osawa's talk drew upon and revised to update her presentation at the SCJ's September 2020 International Conference on Science and Technology for Sustainability 2020 - Social Inclusion in the Global Era - Sustainable post-COVID-19 Society.
